What tax documents will you receive?

Updated yesterday

For most Canadians, the personal tax filing deadline is April 30. You’ll receive any investment-related tax documents from Intelligent Investing well before this date.

The tax documents you receive depend on the type of investment account you hold. Through Managed Investing, we offer:

  • Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs)

  • Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs)

  • Non-registered accounts

Not sure which account you have?

You can check directly in the app. Tap on a goal and look just below the goal name to see the account type. If you have multiple goals, you have multiple investment accounts—be sure to review each one.

Which documents are issued?

  • TFSA: No tax documents (investment growth and withdrawals are tax-free)

  • RRSP: RRSP contribution receipt

  • Non-registered account:

    • T3 slip if investment income is more than $100

    • Trust income report if investment income is $100 or less

When will you receive them?

Tax documents will be available in the Documents section of the app by the end of March.

We receive the required tax information from our service providers near the end of March, which means we can only share documents after that time. While some people prefer to file early, this timing is outside our control and follows the same schedule each year.

Since the tax filing deadline is April 30, you’ll still have several weeks to file your return after receiving your documents.
