Why do we need to verify your identity?

To comply with Canadian federal regulations, we’re required to verify your identity before we can move funds into your Intelligent Investing account.

Identity verification also helps protect your account by ensuring that only you can take sensitive actions, such as linking a bank account or updating personal information.

What you may be asked to provide

After you sign up, we may ask for additional documentation to confirm your identity. In most cases, one of the following is sufficient:

  • A government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s licence or passport), or

  • A bank statement or utility bill in PDF format

Documents must be original (for example, a PDF downloaded from your bank or service provider, or received by email), not screenshots or photos of paper copies. Your name and current address must be clearly visible and accurate, and the document must not be expired.

How verification works

We use secure third-party verification services to handle identity checks safely and reliably. This helps ensure your information is protected throughout the process.

Next steps

If we request documents, please send them to support@intelligentinvesting.ai.
Once we’ve received and verified them, we’ll be able to start transferring funds into your Intelligent Investing account.
